I bought Dream match '99 for only $25! Wondering if there anymore cuz the graphics look kinda outdated for '99 I'd be scared! Posted by psx2000 on 03:16:2001 06:45 PM: kof evolution is the last. http://www.peyros.com/tags/PSXtag.gif Posted by Psycho Soldier on 03:16:2001 06:54 PM: KOF '99 Dream Match is actually KOF '98, so basically you're playing a game that is going on its third year. Try to be nice on the visuals... KOF '98 (or KOF '99 Dream Match) is an EXCELLENT game. Probably the best in the KOF series if you can get into it. Posted by Johnny on 03:16:2001 10:21 PM: The last game for KOF game for DC was KOF 99: Evolution. Hopefully KOF 2000 will be coming out. Johnny(formaly known as JA8) Posted by sykocrashaa on 03:16:2001 10:29 PM: Can any Canadian players help me out on finding where to buy KOF 99 for DC? I can't find it in any stores... where can i buy it? I MUST have this!!! btw, Dream match is excellent. Near arcade perfect. I've had no problems finding it here in New York. A couple of stores had the US KOF Evolution title at about $30. Game Express was one of them... just a suggestion if you're looking for this title. Posted by SF Rules on 03:16:2001 11:29 PM: They released another KOF for the PSX at the same time as Evolution, but I haven't seen it anywhere. Posted by Neo Rasa on 03:16:2001 11:33 PM: SF Rules: That KoF is the same as Evolution only with a few different features, like the color edit mode. Unfortunately it got an even more limited release than the Dreamcast port. I'll pick it up next time i'm down there... Game Express is located on W 31.st or W 32nd. between 6th and 7th Avenue. It's across the street from the Manhattan Mall. It's a pretty decent gaming store, and last time I checked (which was yesterday), they had a US copy of Dream Match for $20 and Evolution for $30. I'm actually thinking on getting a copy of Dream Match myself, just for the cool anime intro. They also have a DOA 2 machine and a Third Strike machine, where I had the privilege to get beat to death by someone playing Q. Oh well, maybe next time Necro. There's another gaming store up 7th Avenue near 40th and 41st street, but I can't remember the name of that store. They also may have the game, but it's a much smaller store than Game Express. Video Gamesters is on 14th Street, near the corner of 8th Avenue. This store may be a good choice, plus they also have a few classics here and there. Plus three game machines. MvC2, CvS and some other one I can't remember. Multimedia 1.0 is an EXCELLENT place for finding old, vintage games as well as some new titles. But be wary of their prices, some of them are just too expensive. But sometimes you can find a deal... last time I was there I purchased a copy of Super Dodge Ball for the PC-Engine for $30! They're located on St. Mark's Street (E 8th) between 3rd and 4th. One other store I can't remember is located near the World Trade Center on W. Broadway near Hudson Street. The few times I've been there they had a decent selection and some classics as well. Prices weren't always the best, but they did have a good choice of new games. Hopes this information helps... and maybe one day I might just run into you at one of these places. I'm SO OVERDUE for a trip to Chinatown Fair... it's been almost 2 years since I've been there last!! Posted by sykocrashaa on 03:17:2001 01:46 AM: Cool! When i stay at new york i stay at my dad's apartment which is at the corner of fulton street and gold street(it's near the pizza place "lisa's pizza" which my dad owns... visit sometime!) near seaport. It's pretty close to world trade centre so next time i'm down there i'll keep that in mind! thanx. it's close to chinatown too so maybe i'll come by and run in to u Posted by SSJGouKi on 03:17:2001 04:19 AM: quote: Originally posted by Psycho Soldier: Game Express is located on W 31.st or W 32nd. between 6th and 7th Avenue. I'd be scared! Hell no. That would change the dynamics of the game completely, and SNK has a hard time doing that with most of it's games. There are Strikers, which are like MvC2's assists except you have a limited number of them, and there is a huge delay before they come out. The game is better w/o it. Trust me. http://to2008.tripod.com/BOFtagX.gif "Ore no hontou no chikara o misete yaru ze!" Posted by Neo Rasa on 03:17:2001 10:25 AM: SNK has a hard time doing that with most of it's games. Posted by tenchiman79 on 03:17:2001 04:18 PM: Well how do you make a striker come out to help you? None of this info is in the manual. I'd be scared! Most times, I'm content just watching Third Strike, but if I do play I usually play with Necro, with the occasional Yang. I'm always carrying a bag with me, sometimes a red Caffeine bag. A black guy with average height and a shaved head. Maybe not the best description, but the bag should be a dead giveaway. Most times I'm just peeking in to see if they got anything new in on the Dreamcast inport side, or with the Neo Geo Pocket Color. After my trip to Miami next week, I definitely need to take some time and go to Chinatown Fair and The Break. It depends on the striker... Some of them like Yashiro, Whip and Ralf come out instantly and attack. Some of them will come out and delay their attacks before launching them. Some don't attack at all unless you touch them like Choi... but while they're not attacking they have the ability to raise or lower your super meter. Some can give you life back (like Athena). They can be called out anywhere in KOF2K, which makes the game wide open for infinites and other outrageous attacks. And strikers are of limited use... but at times you can gain back use of an extra striker stock if you're bold enough to taunt your opponent. WIth all of this madness, why would you want to be able to tag out your partners? That would be too much madness! Besides... the Neo Geo is a good system, but probably couldn't handle as much action a game like MvC2 demands. Naomi hardware is more powerful than MVS, even though MVS can do some phenomenal 2D fighters. I'm not talking about subtle changes in character properties, I'm talking about a complete and utter overhaul of the game system. For example, compare MvC1 and MvC2. Huge differences. The biggest change made to KOF recently is the Active Striker system. http://to2008.tripod.com/BOFtagX.gif "Ore no hontou no chikara o misete yaru ze!"
